Fighting obesity has become a common American topic across the country. Public schools are making the change over to a healthier options, fast food chains are now displaying nutritional facts on menus, and the overall consumption of food per person is ever growing.

Believe it or not, obesity hasn’t been an issue until 2004, when Medicare announced the disease and started relief programs against the disease. This means that in less than 20 years our society has dramatically declined in health and awareness.

So what is Obesity?

According to the dictionary, the definition of obesity is, “the condition of being grossly fat or overweight”.

Obesity is a disease that affects 78.6 million Americans, which is more than one-third of the U.S. adult population. 69% of the U.S. are categorized as being affected by obesity or having excess weight.

Child obesity vs. adult obesity is extremely serious.

When a child is obese they have a buildup of fat molecules and cholesterol in the views of the body and heart, and as the child grows older, the buildup will reach a blockage causing a heart attack.

This topic of obesity should not be treated lightly. It is a serious issue as our world declines in health.

So what can we do to fight obesity?

1). Eat healthier

Avoid fatty and high calorie foods. To do this, there has to be a mindset change where you become more aware of the food that you eat and avoid the bad ones at all costs.

Get back to the basics and understand what it means to eat healthy.

2). Get more exercise

Did you know that just a half hour walk as soon as you wake up and before eating anything is extremely effective for burning fat?

Fat burns most effectively in the morning because you have not eaten anything since you slept.

3). Set an example

Be the change that you want to see in the world.

When people see you losing fat and gaining muscle, you will inspire others to do the same.

4). Make the owners aware

Show people how to be more healthy by starting a new lifestyle change, campaign, or educational seminar where you can teach people how important eating healthy is.

5). Petitioning

Ask people in your local area to sign a petition to choose health.

6). Create a list

Create a list of clean but tasty foods which you enjoy eating such as low fat foods, fruits, tuna, and even healthy recipes.

7). Keep yourself motivated

Motivation is the most important to fight obesity.

Watch inspirational videos, post pictures of your dream body on your mirror, stay educated on health, join a fitness club, surround yourself with people that make you want to live a healthy life.

8). Education

Making sure that you teach your children about the importance of making healthy choices in your home is vital now days.

School soda machines and candy bar machines obviously are not the option that or lifestyle that you would want your child to choose.
