October is the national month for supporting women who have been impacted by the fatal disease, breast cancer.

For all those who are still living with this disease, or have loved ones fighting this disease, the month of October has been designated just for breast cancer awareness.

Breast cancer is a disease which has been an epidemic in itself and sees a yearly rise of 3.4%. Now is the time to come together and take action to help change the survivor statistics that we hope to reduce. If you take a look at the entire world, almost 35% of the global diagnoses are from young women. In 2017, the united states reported more than 13,000 women below the age of 40 diagnosed with the disease. This is exactly why all women should know about breast cancer and should be aware of how common the disease is. Here are some interesting things to know about breast cancer:

#1. Research reveals that breast cancer is the most common type of cancer found among women between the age of 15 and 39.

Despite young women, breast cancer is very rarely studied. There are current researchers, doctors, and oncologists who are making incremental strides towards comprehending the environmental factors which ultimately cause this type of cancer among women.

This year MedHealth Urgent Care wants to make their toy donation bigger than ever. Starting now until December 23rd, you will be able to donate un-wraped gifts to MedHealth Urgent Care, 2908 McGehee Road in Montgomery, Alabama. Donate and drop off your un-wraped gifts to one of the white bins labeled “Toys for Tots” and help us raise Christmas for children in need this holiday season. Toys for Tots is a program run by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve which distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas.
